The Way We Were

Classmate David van Veen.

Dear Classmates,

We could use your help in identifying anyone who hasn't been identified or has been incorrectly identified.  If you can provide information about these images, please head over to the FB Group and let Heidi know about it.  Clicking on classmate images will load a light box and there will be a number associated with each image.  Use the arrows from there to scroll through the images. (Best viewed from a desktop/laptop.  If you arrived here via the Facebook link you are still within Facebook and the site (all websites) will not function the same as they do within a browser, (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).  Recommendation is to copy the URL from FB and paste it into a browser, preferably Chrome).

Faculty images without names are numbered.  Names with "?" need confirmation.

Thanks,

Heidi (Stephan) Powell

Class Song

Controversy Solved

art divider

50 years have passed. Not everyone who has chimed in agrees on what our class song was.  One day during our Senior Year, we voted to choose the song.  There were three choices.  Oddly, (or not) classmates we have heard from are recalling three different songs! All three songs are below.

Winner!

Meri (Opsal) Skaare has solved the mystery

of  "what was our song?" How she did it.....

Meri found a 50 year old copy of our "Senior Follies" program containing the song!

Thanks Meri!

You win a chicken dinner!

Must be present to claim your prize 🏆

Scroll down to learn the truth!

Teach Your Children

by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Lyrics

You, who are on the road
Must have a code you try to live by
And so become yourself
Because the past is just a goodbye

Teach your children well
Their father's hell did slowly go by
Feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by

Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you

And you, of tender years
Can't know the fears your elders grew by
Help them with your youth
They seek the truth before they can die

Teach your parents well
Their children's hell will slowly go by
And feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by

Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you

Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you

Ooh, and know they love you
And know they love you, yeah
And know they love you

"Teach Your Children" is a song written by Graham Nash in 1968 when he was a member of the Hollies. Although it was never recorded by that group in a studio, the Hollies did record it live in 1983. After the song was initially recorded for the album Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1969, a much more enhanced version of the song was recorded for the album Déjà Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, released in 1970.

"It's The Laughter We'll Remember"

😂

The Way We Were

by Barbra Streisand

Lyrics

Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were

Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we?
Could we?

Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply to choose to forget

So it's the laughter
We will remember

Whenever we remember
The way we were
The way we were

"The Way We Were" is a song by American singer Barbra Streisand from her fifteenth studio album of the same name. It was released as the album's lead single on September 27, 1973, through Columbia Records.

Time In a Bottle

by Jim Croce

Lyrics

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then

Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
